Sonia holds a Master Degree (DESS) in Industrial Property Law from the University of Paris II Assas, and a Master Degree (DEA) in Business Law and Economics from the Paris I Sorbonne University.
She started her career as a teaching assistant in Corporate Law at the Paris I Sorbonne University for 2 years and then joined the Paris Business Law Firm De Sainte-Croix. She then moved to Switzerland and worked in the Biotech and pharmaceutical industry for more than 12 years. She was the Head of the Merck Serono Corporate Trademarks group in Geneva in charge of the Biotech drugs and devices portfolio on a worldwide basis (2000-2012). She was also a member of the Merck Anti-counterfeiting task force for 6 years (2007-2012)
Sonia joined a Swiss firm in February 2013 to head the Branding Department. In 2015, she launched her own practice working on Brand IP strategy and protection. She advises companies ranging from startup to international corporations. She gives IP lectures at the Fribourg Chamber of Commerce as well as at the EPFL. She is a Platinn Specialist at Platinn (Swiss Innovation Center).
