Philippe CONAN

French & European Patent Attorney

Philippe CONAN graduated as a chemical engineer in Lyon in 1977 and from the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) in Strasbourg in 1991.
Philippe CONAN started his career in intellectual property in 1986 at the pharmaceutical laboratory Roussel-Uclaf, now part of the Sanofi Aventis group. He became a European Patent Attorney in 1996 and joined the Air Liquide Group in the same year. He has been working in this company for more than twenty years as a patent engineer and then as the manager of the Paris Patents group of the Intellectual Property Department until 2019.
Since then, Philippe CONAN is exercing as an independent expert.
Backed by a wealth of professional experience, Philippe CONAN has a perfect understanding of the issues faced by various industries, from start-ups to SMEs to multinationals, and is able to advise them on all IP-related matters (acquisition, defense and exploitation of rights, strategic support, training, contracts, employee’s inventions, etc.) with a unique vision of the strategic stakes of IP for the industry.
In parallel with his professional activity, Philippe CONAN has been involved in various associations and, in particular, joined the Board of Directors of the Association des Spécialistes en Propriété Intellectuelle (ASPI) in 2007, of which he was President from 2013 to 2014.
Philippe CONAN also represented France on the Council of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi) for two three-year terms, an institute of which he is currently still an internal auditor.
Philippe Conan has joined the ALATIS network in 2021. His knowledge and expertise will enrich the ALATIS with competences in the fields of chemistry, biology and pharmacology, in particular./p>
