Marc BROYDE

Attorney-at-law, European Patent Attorney

Marc began his career in Intellectual Property at the European Patent Office in Germany where he served as Examiner as part of an opposition division in the field of vehicle equipment, mechanical transmissions, suspension and steering. In his eight years at the Patent Office, Marc was involved in more than fifty opposition cases that reached oral proceedings.

In 1997 he moved to the Industry, spending five years as an in-house Patent Counsel for Schneider Electric Industries, a major manufacturer of electrical distribution, industrial control and automation devices. Working directly with the R&D department, he managed a portfolio of rights in the fields of low, medium and high voltage power supply, which led him to take on several litigation procedures in Europe, China and the United States. Mark also conducted IP due diligences for strategic mergers and acquisitions.

When he transitioned to private practice in 2002, this unique experience allowed him to support and advise a wide variety of clients as associate and partner with various firms in London and Paris. In 2016, Mark co-founded the multi-disciplinary and pan-European Alatis network. His practice is primarily devoted to patent and design litigation, patent prosecution and intellectual property counselling, including non-infringement and invalidity opinions.

Marc holds a Postgraduate Degree in European Patent Litigation (Strasbourg, France – 2005), a Masters of Law (University of Lille – 2004), a degree in IP Law from the C.E.I.P.I. (Strasbourg, France – 1993) and a Masters Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering (ENSEM Nancy, France – 1985). He is fluent in French, German and English.
